Each semester, Rowan University Libraries offers a powerful service: free workshops led by Rowan librarians, faculty, staff, and graduate students. Designed to support student success, professional development, and lifelong learning, these workshops are open to students, staff, faculty, and the public. Workshops are offered in person or online.
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your research skills, explore digital tools, learn about AI, or explore campus trees, Library Workshops offer something for everyone.
Workshop Topics
Citation Management – Tools like RefWorks and EndNote to help with research & citations.
Creativity & Play – Sessions that spark imagination beyond traditional scholarship, such as campus walking tours, Photoshop Essentials, and unique art practices.

Evaluating Online Information – Strengthen digital literacy and critical thinking through lateral reading and using Wikipedia wisely.

We asked: Did you learn something new?
“Absolutely. I didn’t know about LibKey and have been wishing for an easy way to move from an article webpage to the properly permitted site without always having to go through the library catalog. This is it! I am sure I will use it often.”
“Yes! I learned how I am able to rent out textbooks through interlibrary loans. This is great for me since I am currently taking Chemistry and now know how to take out the ACE Exam Practice Booklet.”
“Yes. I have zero experience in AI. Before leaving the workshop, I was able to use Copilot to generate step-by-step instructions on something I am learning. Although I have not used these instructions yet, the step-by-step instructions look great and I think that they will be helpful. Thank you!”
“I learned about how AI can be used to assist in different ways such as pulling from specific research papers to organize information and help make plans or suggestions academically. This is beneficial for me as an student doing research and have lots of information where I want a brief summary rather than scouring for the information. Suggestions in planning are very nice to have too because it can sometimes end up a lot to do and fit.”
“I really liked the topic about different AI uses for academics, and I feel like it is really useful for students to know because it can really help with (not completely do) their work.”
