The Hope Brings Strength Library (HBS) at Rowan Virtua-SOM is proud to host This Lead Is Killing Us, a traveling exhibition from the National Library of Medicine, on display from April 6 through May 15.

The exhibit explores the history and ongoing impact of lead poisoning in the United States, with a focus on the communities most affected and the advocacy efforts that brought national attention to the issue. Through historical narratives and real-life accounts, it highlights how individuals and communities organized to demand safer environments and stronger public health protections.

Selected through a national application process, the HBS Library is one of a limited number of sites chosen to host this traveling exhibition before it continues on to its next location.

This Lead Is Killing Us invites visitors to reflect on environmental health, public policy, and the power of community action in shaping safer, healthier futures.
